GZA, Mission of Burma at Newbury Comics

This weekend. GZA is only doing a "meet & greet", but MoB is performing.

All I know about GZA is how to pronounce his name, and I learned that from Mahatma Chani. P'dam: Hey, I just saw the new Jim Jarmusch film, Ghost Dog - it was amazing! And that guy from Wu-Tang, Ar Zee Ay, did the music. MC: That's pronounced "Rizza", Pamsterdam. P'dam: Rizza? ...but that would mean that Gee Zee Ay would be pronounced... MC: Yep. P'dam: Wow.

Yeah, despite my African American Studies minor, I'm probably the whitest person on Rideside. Did you ever see the MTV Mothers' Day special featuring Ol' Dirty's mother? She was awesome - affectionately referring to him as "Dir-ty" in that gorgeous accent of hers (Jamaican? Anyone know?).
