thanks for posting -
Unfortunately I missed the Fey-as-Palin cameo last week, but have seen clips of it since.
I finished reading a biography of John Belushi a few weeks back which gave some insight into Belushi's fixation on punk rock - apparently he grew tired of his earlier blues-centric immersion and was pushing Hollywood execs to have FEAR music featured in his film 'Neighbors' with Dan Aykroyd to no avail.
Also a fun pic of him in the book fishing @ Martha's Vineyard (where he is buried) w/ a Black Flag 'bars' t shirt.
I think the upcoming 'complete season 4' dvd box set has the uncut musical performances of Devo and Ornette Coleman amongst others. The Fear appearance with Ian Mackaye and Henry Rollins is still a few seasons off - 5 maybe?
The box sets are way more SNL than one needs, but its cool to see the old shows in their entirety instead of in recut 'greatest hits' packages.

NEWWWWWW YORKKKKK SUCKKKKKS!
I don't think Henry was there -- if memory serves, it was after Belushi left the show, and after Henry joined Black Flag.
Ian talks to Nardwaur about it here.

October 31 1981, season 7
Belushi left the show as a regular after season 4.
I always mistakenly associate Hank and Ian connected @ the hip. could it be that all of Hank's stories feature Ian?
Also in Season 7: Sparks, Miles Davis, the Kinks, allman Brothers.
