Agreed -- McCain looked shaky initially, but sounded increasingly articulate as the debate went on.

This gave me an anxiety attack.

Who advised McCain not to make eye contact? Made him look really weak, but yeah a draw...

Let's face it: it's down to either an empty suit (probable winner) or a life's-a-bitch-and-it's-going-to-take-some-hard-sacrifices-to-get-out-of-it guy.

As of right now, McCain is not what I would call a 'probable winner'.

18 million people have voted for the empty suit so far. One vote (McCain's or Steve Schimdt's??) for the empty skirt.
Who's dismayed that half the country doesn't agree with them now?

It was "judgment" v. "naivete". Yeah, a draw, but McCain's shit-eatin' grin didn't win him any points. His proposed freeze on everything except for veterans, defense, and entitlements(?) struck me as a nutty thing to say.
Maybe I'm overly critical of Obama. ABC News poll. I thought he could have done much better in some of his responses, especially were McCain's numbers are concerned.
$700 billion is the Wall St. bailout, $39 billion is our foreign aid. ...and why didn't Obama point out that the $18 billion in earmarks is only ~0.6% of the Federal budget. Cutting earmarks is a fine idea, but it's not a budget policy.
