For convenience, I often have cd comps or greatest hits things and whenever possible I try and go back to cite the original and not the cheeesy "gretest hits" or what have you, but then I also wonder if I am not being truthful of what I am actually playing.
Also - to listener X out there hearing either my talkback or reading the online playlist - if I am citing the original (that may or may not be out of print or impossible to find) will that ultimately send them on a wild goose chase for a version they are probably not ever going to find unless they 2nd mortgage their house to procure it on ebay?
As I probably have all of 3 listeners at any one time, its probably a moot point anyways, but these are the things I think about...
