Corby's Comedy Corner - week 1

So I decided to offer a new feature for RSN, in the style of my cheesy homeboy. A weekly morsel for your listening pleasure. I like listening to comedy on the T. Music can sound shitty when the B lines wheels are screaming. Plus, its fun giggling in a metal tube full of strangers who look at you like you might be a bit schizo. I'm going to do it in no particular order, just stuff that makes me laugh. To kick off we have Dylan Moran. He makes me want to take up being Irish and drinking as a career. Genius. http://www.mediafire.com/?buwxcbkzyiy http://www.mediafire.com/?6v51d1hij0z

1. I was very amused by his assessment of various forms of alcohol and their effects, although I was disappointed that he left out both rum (I'M DRUNK DIALING ALL MY EXES!) and tequila (WHERE THE HELL AM I AND WHY AM I NAKED?). 2. Surprisingly enjoyed his male/female jokes. Especially the one about how the emotion that men associate with 'love' is what women feel (almost exclusively) toward shoes. This is not untrue. 3. One complaint: I know he's Irish, but some of his humor was a bit too staid/conservative/British middle class for me. The discomfort with 'youths', rap music, attractive pop stars versus cack-ugly ones (hello, Cilla, luv!), and technology smacked of the kind of thing British pensioners love. That and a nice cuppa cha. And a decent biscuit that stands up to dunking. I thought Irish people were above all that? ;)

on a related note to a decent biscuit that stands up to dunking, have you seen http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com/ ?

I had not! Yes, this underlines your national obsession with tea & biscuits rather nicely... Have you seen this? Incidentally, can someone please tell Northerners to stop calling a cup of tea "a brew" (when everyone knows that "a brew" is actually a beer, preferably from Milwaukee)? Very confusing.
