More reckless speech.

I was thinking about Rich's quote from THK, when I heard Thune, Armitage, etc. on the radio last Friday. I wanted to find the quotes and here they are. Some examples of reckless speech on the Right. Compared to Teresa Heinz, a private citizen without public office (at the moment), I find these a little more troubling.
This one in particular is a gem:
The previous day in Warsaw, Deputy Secretary of State Richard L. Armitage said terrorists in Iraq "are trying to influence the election against President Bush."
Although, at the end of the day I might agree with McClellan (!!) that Armitage et al. (including Heinz) are just expressing an opinion. I highly suspect this is the new Republican talking point, just like the Iraq War is for the Democrats. But, hey, that's what Parties do, right?
It seems that all too frequently people are criticized for saying, instead of for what they're saying.
On Fox News, conservative commentator Ann Coulter said, "It's unquestionable that Republicans are more likely to prevent the next attack." Kerry, she said, "will improve the economy in the emergency services and body bag industry."
And Kerry has to defend going after Al Qaeda.... Osama must be laughing his ass off.
