'The Place' is the third of the four (at present) records that feature photos of Ireland on the cover. Haven't heard 'I Woke Up' yet- the first of the series, but I've got the other three. 'The Place' is firmly between the detuned 12-string dissonance of 'The Humility Of Pain' and its thudded cousin, 'The Gone Wait,' the most recent. Our boy is pretty miserable- wouldn't be surprised if all four were recorded in one drunken binge.
