Frontline's 'The Choice 2004'

OK, I watched this instead of most of the blood letting on channel 25. Nothing really surprising. True, it wasn't on Bush's side, Kerry had better theme music for one. Another example: to provide a visual of him at B-School, the only photo they had was of Bush blowing a gum bubble in class. It was the only photo they could find, but... Oh well. Bush's own admission is that the first 40 years of his life he's not to proud of, Frontline did nothing to refute that. All in all, I think it painted a pretty accurate picture of both candidates: Bush 1) consummate politician and tough campaigner 2) makes decisions and moves on, relies on others for guidance on issues 3) an conservative visionary; we've seen and would continue to see a sea change in policy compared to the largely moderate stance of the prior 20 years Kerry 1) an investigator and tough debater 2) looks at issues from all sides. has a detrimental (in politics) habit of explaining his "nuanced" positions, then explaining his explaination 3) a person who's reflects on matters through the prism of Vietnam I was struck by Kerry's speech during the debate of the Iraq resolution Oct. 2002, I guess this bolsters my confidence in Kerry as being "of one mind" about Iraq. "Let me be clear, the vote I will give to the President is for one reason and one reason only: To disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction, if we cannot accomplish that objective through new, tough weapons inspections in joint concert with our allies."
