labels don't matter

sullivan in time Not only is Bush no conservative, but Kerry is no liberal. Same canoe again, thanks H. Moods. Should I be concerned that a Republican is making so much sense to me? After Perot's great success in 1992 and continued disaffectation with the social issues stand point of the Republican Party, I wouldn't be surprised with another go around of the Bull Moose Party.

_hmmm lets see here..... socialization of health care, encouraging people to depend on an archaic Social Security policy that doesn't work, re-implementing taxes, . yeah yr right - that doesn't sound like a liberal at all! ______________________________ If you can't respect that, your whole perspective is whack Maybe you'll love me when I fade to black

What are you talking about? We've been over the health care thing like five times and it is absolutly not socialization, even though I wish it was. Our Social Security policy works if we can get a someone besides the failed Bush to balance the budget. Re-implenting taxes? Are you enjoying the spiraling debt. This is ridiculous... Getting more people covered by increasing the rolls of the Federal Employee plan is somehow socialization.

I'd love a re-implementation of taxes. Let's sign everyone up to a 17% across the board flat tax. No deductions, one exception (people earning less that 20K). Kerry voted to authorize force in Iraq. His liberal credentials stink.

all I'm saying guys, if you only have 2 choices of Kerry = Liberal or Kerry = Conservative, I'm gonna have to go with Kerry = Liberal. _______________________________ If you can't respect that, your whole perspective is whack Maybe you'll love me when I fade to black
Terry said: "Kerry voted to authorize force in Iraq. His liberal credentials stink."
I bet he'd give his left nut to rescind that vote... _______________________________ If you can't respect that, your whole perspective is whack Maybe you'll love me when I fade to black

What makes you think that? In context it makes sense. Troops needed money, he wanted to give them body armor, he wanted those injured in combat to receive combat pay, and he wanted the military to have health insurance. It was only after Bush's botching of the supplemental $87 mil. did it get bad (ie. no bid contracts to Haliburton and Root & Brown). The irony in the "I voted for it, before I voted against it" line is that every single politician knows that happens daily, but Joe Smith doesn't. Someone adds a stupid no bid contract to a bill that would have gone unanimous earlier, and suddenly you vote agianst it.

Dawn, you're confusing the funding bill with the authorization vote. Kerry approved authorization, denied funding. Well, he approved funding, then the White House said it would veto the bill in that form. "They vetoed the funding before they approved it". Cripes.

Ahh, so the world is black and white then? It's either one or the other? Count me "nuanced".
