C4RT: Nov 12th Durham NH (WUNH Fundraising show)

8:00 pm in the Mub Wildcat Den (with special guest). It was nice to see so many familiar faces on 10/30 @ Ralph's (should we pitch in and buy them a lousy cardreader so we dont have to trudge thru the tundra to find an ATM every time we want a PBR? sheesh.) I hope some or even all of you will be able to make this upcoming Friday evening show. Not only are you supporting a fine band and seeing yr friends, but yr $3 USD for admission (if not a UNH student and then its FREE)goes toward keeping wunh on air. (Point your streaming media player on yr computer to www.wunh.org to listen in to regular programming... you can even hear me LIVE on Monday evenings until Dec 20th 2004 from 8pm EST to 9pm EST. This will also serve as one of my last hurrahs for the station I have worked and put my passions into for the last 11 (!) years. come out on Fri Nov 12th and dance yr pants off!!!!

Well, the first $50 of the door money goes to C4RT, but who's counting?

Thought it was $600...

No graphic designers at WUNH? The blue on black message area is awful.

ouch that hurts... its diy, man..... also, to set the record straight, no $$$ from the door will fund C4RT. thats being handled by seperate entities :) Bottom line: It's gonna be a grat nite judging by the Oct 30th performance, and I really hope to see a lot of you there! _______________________________ If you can't respect that, your whole perspective is whack Maybe you'll love me when I fade to black

Opening band(s)_ are Great Goliath and Be Garceau are the openers. for the Nov 12th C4rt show. as an interesting WUNH.org website update, we have just added a feature that lets you check out an mp3 file of that weeks show for each of our shows on the programming grid. If yr morbidly curious as to what I did last week, you can click on PCP on Mondays.... Here's some specs: -Masada -Extreme Noise terror -Melt Banana -Frank Zappa -Art Ensemble Of Chicago -Evolution Control Committee -Ornette Coleman (et. al) _______________________________ “When you’re creating your own shit, man, even the sky ain’t the limit.” Miles Davis

So, people need to realize what a SEVERE Bargain and good cause this Friday Nov 12th 8pm UNH show supports, suck up for the approx 55min car ride on 95, take the DUrham / UNH exit and party w/ C4RT and Rich Ladew (I only have like 5 shows left in my amateur radio career @ WUNH....) _______________________________ “When you’re creating your own shit, man, even the sky ain’t the limit.” Miles Davis

They figure out you're not a student anymore? How did you keep the gig for so long? I'm envious.

I kept showing up... No one kicked me out... Plus... find a student reliable enough to show up enthusiastic, on time, consistently through all holidays, winters and summer breaks.... Not freakin likely... _______________________________ “When you’re creating your own shit, man, even the sky ain’t the limit.” Miles Davis

I used to sleep over during snow storms to be awakened to the melodious strains of polka,,,,, _______________________________ “When you’re creating your own shit, man, even the sky ain’t the limit.” Miles Davis

we do what we can for the 2 people who show up each year.... the prestige factor over the years adds up, though: All have either had concerts or made appearances in studio: - C4RT - Yo La Tengo - Huggy Bear - Fugazi - brief station interview / veggir Pizza with Ian, Guy et al. - Jello Biafra - Crispin Glover (What a dick) - Richard Linklater - Wayne Horvitz (Naked City / Pigpen fame - your band (here) Do it. Also: -Rollins -Slow Fore [they didn't have the right plus at the station, so the band played their CD on-air and did fake between-song banter] -Gob -Stricken for motherfuckin' Catherine! I was at the Huggy Bear/Sinkhole show- that shit ruled. As did the Easter Sunday 1993 Laurels/Edsel/Pitchblende show.

When I was there we used less wattage than a toaster. 200 watts. On a clear day, we'd reach Dexter, MI. (Think Madbury, NH) Before 1984, 'CBN broadcasted at 10 watts. That dude from the Beatnigs, Disposable Heroes of Hip-Hopcrisy, et al., Michael Franti smoked a joint in Studio A once. WCBN put on benefit concerts, but not with the help of U-M student activities cash. We definitely had an Ian MacKaye cartridge. Fellow UM alumni: anyone have the CD collection of cartridges?
