Doonesbury

A blue joke?

Talk about obfuscation. Should "getting" Doonesbury be a badge of honor, or an indication that we sit around and stare at it for way way way too long like one of those obnoxious 3d puzzle mindfuck things at the mall? _______________________________ “The outer space beings are my brothers. No, not a "blue-state joke". A blue joke. "Blue humor?" should have been the post. Off-color, dirty. Lenny Bruce.

whether its political or not, I just don't get whats trying to be said. I just get a headache when I try to "get" Doonesbury... I certainly see the reference to "blue" as off color or prurient or whatever, but why is that per se interesting, funny , or otherwise noteworthy? _______________________________ “The outer space beings are my brothers. Wait... wait... this is the guy with the link to the bizarro David Lynch petrified dog comic strip, having trouble getting Doonesbury? I'm just commenting on the first thought that ran through my head when I read the strip. Really, that's all. A comment is sometimes just a comment.

ohhh touche! Yeah Ive got no solid foundation to stand on for Lynch stuff. Lynch beats Doonesbury in weirdness and such every day of the week. Maybe its the dual Montana Eagle Scout "gee shucks" thing mixed with the dual nature of dark evil scary shit seen in all of his films... I dunno.. All I can say (Subjectively) is that I like Lynch a heck of a lot more than Doonesbury.... _______________________________ “The outer space beings are my brothers. They sent me here. You'd best be careful with the Eagle Scout comments around here, Rich. (And, for the record, I got Pedro in the fantasy draft tonight. Hey, wait, I'll do a whole post on it.)

Kinda like Doonesbury... or the Boondocks? Funny cause it's true.

4th panel is the punchline, but the second is very telling...

Am I the only one who reads this comic? It's been so good recently.
