The Delay Rule

In an effort to keep Tom Delay (R-Tex.) in power when he get's indicted for fund raising fraud, the Republicans in the House have lowered their standards! Josh Marshall has been keeping an eye on Reps who refuse to admit to their constituents that they did or didn't support the Delay Rule. Fairly entertaining. Did those "moral" votes in this past election realize they were voting for the pro-crime agenda. If they only knew the truth...

It's ironic that the House rule that requires members who've been indicted to step down from leadership roles was created and passed by the Republican majority of the mid-90s. I think it was a Newt Gingrich thing, a backlash against the immoral, indicted Democrats. Funny how things change, especially your values, when you come into power.

Oops, just read the Bloomberg article. I'll restate: It's ironic that the caucus rule in question was created by the Republicans during the early 90s in order to differentiate thmeselves from the immoral, indicted Democrats. Funny how things change, especially your values, when you come into power.

It was Newt, as he went for the moral vote -- after he had several affairs, and divorced his wife, and became a Republican.

Yep, Delay's group 'Texans for a Republican Majority' gets indicted. Can we get rid of Delay now? I know he's in everyone's pockets, but even the most die-hard neo-con has to think he's scum. Just ditch him, please.

And now Delay indicted. While I'm smiling, it is still sad that GOP leadership is so criminal. Rove, Frist, and now Delay...
