...there is a review with a rating that does not fall between 5 and 8 (Ada gets an 8.6)
Despite this, though, the average rating today is 7.2

Today the LCD soundsystem gets the 'best new music' tag and a rating of 8.2 (even though the end of the review says that 'Ultimately, LCD Soundsystem suffers a similar fate: plenty of good-not-great stuff, and a tad unfocused.') The Frames get the 4.7.
Still, though, the avergae rating today is 7.1.

How about this: change our rating area to 4.5 to 8.5
Maybe one review a week would fall out of that?

Men talk about music:
Number number number number. Fugazi. Number number. Aberration. Number number number. (all laugh ironically)
Men talk about cars:
Number number number number. Fuel injection. Number number. Aberration. Number number number. (all laugh ironically)
Hee hee.

I could listen to it for hours and never understand a word. :-)
Ed(ward) actually had to explain his new car-part purchase by describing it as a "push-up bra for the car".

I'll remember that for the next time I start to talk about baseball.

Don't get me wrong - I love all that Man-Talk.
I dont know if you've read Chuck Klosterman's 'Fargo Rock City', but in it he puts forward the theory that male music fans are inherently different from female music fans because male music fans are more willing to be analytical about the music they listen to (and why they listen to it) than female music fans, and as a result male music fans tend to be more band-loyal than female music fans. Hence heavy metal bands who relied heavily on a female fan base tended to crash & burn, whereas bands like Iron Maiden and Metallica are still selling a respectable number of albums. Erm, CDs. Ah, MP3s. (Sorry, Lars). Now, ol' Chuck seems to think that this makes men better music fans. Which I have to say is pretty funny, since that in itself is an analysis of the presented "facts". But I do like the theory. It has a good beat and I can dance to it.

I don't remember any of these conversations.

Chuck Klosterman rules. 'Sex, drugs and cocoa puffs' is a worthy follow-up to 'Fargo Rock City'- there's this essay about media bias that I seriously still wanna photocopy and pass out to everyone.

What about the Master Musicians of Bukkake (Someone in our circle of friends needs to buy it for the title alone - maybe it'll be me as long as someone else volunteers to explain what bukkake is on the day Maddie asks me)
