Lara brings up this point: shouldn't Red Sox fans be drawn to the underdog? Go Philly?
Are the Patriots the new Yankees?

Seen at Fidelity's cafteria today:
Philly Cheese Steak:
$4.50 USD for Patriots fans
$15.00 USD for Philly Fans
When I took the $20 out of my wallet to play devils advocate, I got the Patriots rate anyhoo...
As far as Boston fans going for the underground, I would argue that if the Red Sox were the MFY and the MFY were the Red Sox, people would have no problem rooting for their dominating and frequently winning team. People seem to deal with winning pretty ok. The loser prestige thing is easy for a lot of people to forget about.

The loser prestige was always a cheap justification. You didn't ever see anyone in Boston rooting for like the Golden State Warriors during the early eighties, f'r example. I love a good underdog as much as anyone I know, but I'm not going to feel guilty now that the hometown teams are winning again.

I was hoping for a final FG attempt from Vinatieri instead of that last punt at the 50sec. mark.
