Some Kind Of Documentary

Reasons why the Metallica Doc rules:

1. independent interviews with ex Metallica members
2. James and Lars's kids
3. seeing other people in therapy instead of me myself being in therapy
4. background / hindsight into Newstead's split
5. ALways fun to see innerworkings of a band
6. scopin the new bass player's hairdo...

Netflix this shit Pronto!!!!!

I just watched this the other night, Rich. I thought that Dave Mustaine was the winner of the biggest unintentional comedy award, talking about how he was a failure even though he sold fifteen million records.

Robert Trujillo is pretty rad, isn't he?

fuckin A.

embarassing confession / frivolous story:

Way after Suicidal Tendencies had passed their prime circa 1991, I was anxiously awaiting the new release of "Lights Camera Action" When Mike Glumac and I (and the rest of our Explorer Wind Symphony Troop) went to Switzerland. I scoured Swiss record shops for this "gem" featuring our man Trujillo along with crazy Mike Muir et al. hanging off the balcony of a movie theater and marquee... The only tune I remember was some kind of half-assed jab against televangelism...

Suicidal Tendencis put out one of the best debuts ever, then followed it up forgettably almost every time. (See also: Liz Phair.)

Good on you, MikeF. with BOTH the librarian AND Liz Phair references in the same post. Gold star for you!

This post would probably go right around 780 in the Dewey Decimal system, wouldn't you say?

That 'Space Egg' Phair record was, as my cubemate says, BUSH!

Oh! Snap!

Bad Bad Bad (I dont think, even though it would be convienient for you guys that this has any political connotation... whenever we get off of a severely fucked up tax season call we'll say something to the extent of "That Last call was BUSH!")

I watched some of this again and the Mustaine thing didnt have the same effect on me as it did to you.

Being kicked out / rejected / fired / broken up with does something to you.

Mind you 15 million in album sales is better compensation than Ive ever had, but still, I couldnt help but feel a little bit for our cute little Megadeth man....

I felt a little bit bad for him, too, truth be told. I still laughed, though.

Find me on github.
