Nothing like a man in the throes of an ether binge.

I'd love some ether... I really dug that guy.
Quick story:
When I drove to Vail and Aspen with 3 college buddies the first week on February of '95, we stayed in Vail for 3 great days (snowboarded with the Olympic disabled team) and then headed up to meet a former classmate of ours, Gracien Roberts (GW Bush's 2nd cousin actually), who was staying around Snomass, Aspen. Well, communication broke down, and we never got in touch with her to find out exactly where she lived. We closed a bar in Snomass and were thrown to the curb. We drove around for a couple hours hoping we'd figure out where Gracien lived (listening to Neil Young I remember).
Finally we decide to get some sleep and pulled over to a fairly deserted stretch next to a snow field. Chad and Rob stayed in the Chevy Blazer, while Lance and I braved the cold in our sleeping bags outside. Just before it started getting light out, we were woken up by and old man carrying a shot gun. Lance freaked out, "We don't want any trouble, Man, we'll go."
The old man looked into the car and at us lying on the ground. "Just make sure your gone in a few hours. Get some rest."
Chad opened up the car door and said, "That was Hunter S. Thompson."
At which point Lance pulled a 357 Magnum from under his pillow and said, "Mm, maybe he would have liked to see this."
F-ing nuts...

Today's hot rumor: Hunter S. Thompson was Deep Throat. Discuss.
