Lungfish show report:
Man. Where do 35+ scenesters go when they die? Lungfish shows. A short list of the people that I saw there tonight:
-Naomi (of Damon and _________, formerly of Galaxie 500.)
-Gavin from Karate.
-Mary Lou Lord. She walked in like five songs in, stayed for two, and then (no shit) raised her arms like 'whatever' and walked out of TT's.
-Chris Brokaw. (You know.)
-Chris Steinmetz (Kid Company, Curse These X-Ray Eyes.)
They played for maybe like an hour in front of a hundred and twenty-five people on a Monday night. Not so bad. Four or five songs off of 'Love Is Love,' an instrumental from 'Sound In Time,' others I didn't know.
I was over at the side of the stage waering my Cubs hat and fIREHOSE shirt. Between songs, I yelled for 'Nation Saving Song.' Higgs said something which I couldn't understand- stupid earplugs.
Encore: I yelled for 'Nation Saving Song' again. Higgs found me in the crowd, looked into my eyes, and said "We don't know how to play that one."
"Don't know how to play that one?"
"Nope. We'll play a new song instead."
"We like the old one. We think it's a good one."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome."
