Yesterday's disaster
Looks like I forgot everything anybody ever taught me as a union organizer when I didn't get a good crowd for a celebratory event yesterday. Next time:
1) I won't schedule it on a day when 5 other events are taking place...including a Titans game.
2) I'll send out mail and email invitations.
3) I'll make phone call reminders.
4) I won't have another huge event the weekend before.
5) I'll have access to the email addresses for my target audience.
6) I won't buy an entire sheet cake.
7) I will not rely on my micromanaging boss to tell me what to do since she doesn't seem to know.
I went to a bad event yesterday-- they invited about 25 elderly people (canes and walkers), and din't put out any chairs.
Gah!
