Ali G...comic or racist?

Did any of you catch this juicy bit on the radio this morning? Very funny, yet thought provoking. Which way does comedy slant in Europe these days. Apparently, Polish jokes are out this year.

Comics who are not racist are not funny. Discuss.

Posted by Miriam on 2005-11-15 16:41:55 +0000
interesting, but not sure I want to go there

I only like "racial" comics, I dont believe "racist" comics exist..

I don't think he's racist.

I think he's sexy.

I do too! Ooooooh, sexy sexy man.

That's soooo racial.

You're dead to me.

Posted by Miriam on 2005-11-15 19:58:36 +0000
Bring him on! I'm all about the Sephardic look.

The whole "I'm gay" thing is a real turn-off, though.

Posted by Miriam on 2005-11-15 20:15:51 +0000
But Sasha's marrying an Australian actress. Guess he's off limits.

Posted by pamsterdam on 2005-11-15 20:22:30 +0000
Hell, everyone's off-limits to me these days! Woohoo! I'm overwhelmed by illicit celebrity crushes!

He's totally one of my pretend boyfriends.

Ha ha - to me and to self-loathing gay men.

We want our stuff back.

how could the man who crafted Freedom '90, Father Figure, Kissing A Fool, etc be dead to anyone?

Good point. Faith was on repeat in my car for about a year.

Posted by tgl on 2005-11-15 20:57:41 +0000
That's funny.

Posted by pamsterdam on 2005-11-15 21:02:22 +0000
No, I mean you. You're dead to me. For saying that Ali G looks like George Michael. George Michael is very much alive to me. But not sexy. He's too gay to activate my tingles.

Posted by rladew on 2005-11-15 21:09:19 +0000
so my observation was a sexual buzzkill... that still doesn't change the fact that these two men look similar...

Hm.

You're killing one of my illicit celebrity crushes.

Tingles... getting... weaker!

SPOCK!

Still looking for a full "Spock with a Beard" mp3. No luck yet, except a bit from Amazon. Ahhh, 1994.

I love the headline! Spreeeeeeeee!

But I thought GM didn't "believe in" men being monogamous? Last year he did this b.s. interview saying that men aren't made to have long-term monogamous relationships and straight women should just deal with infidelity as a sort of "hazard of the trade". (arches eyebrows, purses lips)

So, no - I don't think we'll attend.

Posted by rladew on 2005-11-30 15:40:26 +0000
It was a rather good headline, I have to admit..
