Real Change in the Mid. East

Rice cuts a deal. Glad to see she's moving away from the Cheney-Rumsfeld axis. She's looking more Powellian every day. Not that Powell ever managed to get any sort of agreement between these two sides. This is the sort of thing that will give positive benefits to the US. Dec. 15th Iraqis vote, again. Then what?

Awesome. Good stuff. And it took a gay black woman to to it. I'm really proud of her. Best news I've heard from the Middle East since... well, since Clinton was in office.

Way to go Condi! It's nice to have something positive come out of the region. Diplomacy is making a comeback!

Are you kidding me?! It had nothing to do with her. Obviously the two sides were ready to sit down. By the way...Arafat's DEAD! Ever think that might have something to do with peace being a possibility?

I think the US has an interest in pressuring both sides to work together. This is the first time that a Sec. of State under Bush has been involved in any significant agreements. 5 years has been _way_ too long to ignore this issue. You're right: single biggest foreign policy victory for the Bush administration as it relates to terrorism is that Arafat died.

It's interesting that they waited until now to even bother.
