This is sad

I just posted the last four things. I am a Thanksgiving loser. I finished embroidering my 2 year old neice's baby quilt yesterday, finished a book today, wiped the floor with my grandma in Scrabble...twice, and survived everyone in Monopoly. I am officially full of energy and thoroughly bored. This just goes to show it's a good thing I don't have internet access at home! Can you imagine what kind of nonsense I'd spew all over the screen if I did?! Guess I could go to sleep or start the new book my mom just handed me 20 minutes ago about Jamaicans who settled in London. I'll let you know how it goes. Maybe this will help keep me away from the romance novels. Gosh, I hope not!

Oooh, Andrea Levy's book "Small Island"? That is a GREAT book.

That's the one! I was able to read the first chapter before passing out last night. Loving it so far.

If you like it, you might like "Brick Lane" by Monica Ali - London, but different diaspora. Oh, and "The God of Small Things" by Arundhati Roy - not really related, I guess, but I adore that book. Oooooh, you're making me want to go back & re-read all three...

Thanks for the recommendations! It should keep me away from the Romance Section for a while. :)
