So, I played poker last night...

Texas Hold 'em, no other variations. 7 dudes, 2 decks of cards, and 16 oz PBR's. There were few good hands early on, with people winning the whole pot on a pair of jacks or even queen high. But things started heating up, and I was down to $4. The next hand I went all in with an A/5 after an A/9/5 flop. My two pair held, and I won about $10 back. Next hand I was dealt A/K both hearts, I immediately went all in, and I drew a flush, beating Nick who called with Q/Q. Two hands later Marcus, goes all in ($25) after a K/J/J flop. I have K/K and call. Marcus had K/J. Brutal, but I'll take it. I put in $30, walked with $90. Haven't done that in years. I can't wait to start gambling counseling.

I definitely need to learn from you!

Learn? Well, it was lucky cards mostly. When you're down with next to nothing, you might as well go all in with a decent hand, otherwise you'll be bid out with a mediocre hand. The K/K full house is just common sense; even if Marcus had A/A he needed to draw another ace to beat my full house, but he went all in on the flop, so I figured he probably had J/J.
