What a Weekend
So, last weekend I went to a training in a casino in Mississippi, where I lost about $100, learned how to play craps and blackjack, and got food poisoning for possibly the first time in my life.
The highlights also included:
1) Driving in via Memphis in a low-visibility snow storm that yielded about 5".
2) Not sleeping the first night 'cause I couldn't get comfortable.
3) Playing blackjack for over an hour with a bunch of guys who work in the office of the AAA baseball team in Memphis and having them help me learn the game.
4) Not sleeping the second night 'cause I was trying not to throw up while hoping the stabbing stomach pains would subside.
5) Passing out on the bathroom floor from pain and nausea about 3:30am.
6) Getting through my shower without puking, and as soon as my roomie said, "Couldn't be food poisoning since you didn't throw up" and left the room to check out...I yakked for about 20 minutes. It was gross beyond belief.
7) Sleeping in the back of the car for the 4 hour ride back to Nashville.
8) Running an hour-long meeting for about 40 parents to talk about an upcoming formal dance for their kids.
Luckily, I took Monday off to continue recovery. Today I came in to work with 55 emails and 16 voice mails. Not bad for being gone 4 days!
