Little Shop of Horrors
I just finished listening to this soundtrack and am, as always, much happier for having done so.
I've auditioned for lots of musicals with "Suddenly Seymor," which remains one of my faves from the album. "Dentist" will always win that contest, though. Also a big fan of "Skid Row (Downtown)."
Thumbs up.
I like Guys & Dolls (the film version only - Frank Sinatra & Marlon Brando, yum) and Rocky Horror Picture Show (ditto - Richard O'Brien & Tim Curry, yum). Can't think of any others I can even tolerate.
But I love you, Mir!
I did a lot of plays growing up, most of them American musicals translated into Hebrew, which is a very strange experience to perform when you're not sure what you're saying or singing. As a kid, my dream was to be on a stage, and my parents were very supportive. As I got older, though, I remembered why I didn't pursue it: I don't like to work that hard, or sit around that long, or get bossed around that much by people who are so over the top. Then again, I met some cool people.
Although I don't always like plays, I do like opera. Don Giovanni in Paris was unreal. They were speaking Italian onstage, and projecting the French translation above, and somehow I was able to figure out a lot of what was being said. Oh, and flames shot out of the center of the stage a the end. Best pyrotechnics I've ever seen.

Andrew Lloyd Webber can eat it as far as Im concerned, but there are a lot of good musicals out there.
Like Opera, Very difficult, but rewarding artform to pull off...

Ahhhhhh... say no MORE, son. Now I get it.
The noisiness is an added benefit for me, but ST has a lot to offer all theater goers IMHO
I know, I'm soulless.
