Lets fire all the radio hosts.
I only wish that Jews had Jesse "Hymietown" Jackson and Al "Diamond Merchant" Sharpton fired as well.
Our society has become so humorless and rabid and sensitive and easily offended that it really scares me what could potentially be done to "regulate" our airwaves.
The path to hell was paved with the best of intentions.
George Carlin said it best: "One of the buttons turns the radio off, and the other one changes the station"

It's not just the Jews being offended by Al Sharpton.
Full agreement vis-a-vis let these clowns broadcast.

"On his show Limbaugh says he is an entertainer"
Well, duh.

I think we can all agree Rush entertains no one though.
Obama is coming out of this like diamonds.

Please, Jackson and Sharpton don't work for the "Jews". I know the neo-cons like to say the Jews run the media, but come on.
I don't get MF DU's POV. Were you being sarcastic when you said that you "wish that Jews had Jesse "Hymietown" Jackson and Al "Diamond Merchant" Sharpton fired as well?"
I thought you were arguing that people should _not_ be fired nor be regulated for their speech.

Agreed - this helps Obama.

It's a double standard - Sharpton and Jackson have no right to advocate for equality if thats not ultimately what they are preaching themselves as seen by their own insulting and derogatory ethnic comments.
Oh and BTW - how is any of what I said in this thread dyed-in-the wool neo con?
I never said I sided with Rush or was entertained by him - my only point was being skittish about firing conterversial radio rosts that are pretty much paid to be controversial and then get fired or reprieved for doing exactly what was in their job description in the first place.
Frankly if I ever happened upon Mr. Oxycontin, I would turn him right off - that guy puts me off my food. Didn't he once accuse Michael J Fox of 'acting' or enhancing his Parkinsons to further a political cause Rush didn't agree with? What an asshole.

Like a Heimietown Diamond Merchant, even!

It's a fine line. If they were _good_ at what they did they would be able to gauge public opinion successfully and be just pleasingly derogatory to keep an audience (and ad dollars).
Let's not forget that Don Imus was canned only after advertisers started to pull out, not before. Sharpton didn't break Imus, Proctor & Gamble did.
You live by the sword, etc., etc.

So were you being sarcastic or not? I still don't get it.
The neo-con bit was that the "Jews" could have Sharpton and Jackson fired.

There was no Big Government imposed "regulation" that got Don Imus fired, or might get Limbaugh fired or might get Sharpton fired.
Don Imus ceased being funny, he got canned. Another example of the Free Market in action, no governmental intervention needed.

Sarcasm may have entered into it a little bit.
There were no [said in earnest, with no sarcasm][/said in earnest, with no sarcasm] demarcations...
I also had no intent of stating factually (or even implying for that matter) that Jews employed Sharpton or JJ.
If it starts and ends with Imus being fired, I tend to agree with TGL.
However, it has been suggested by Sharpton et. al that it is a business that requires more regulation and I can't get behind that, ya dig? Sho Nuff.
