2007-8 Hot Stove Thread

I'm okay with <a href ="http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2007/11/06/schilling_sox_close/"> this </a> going down.

He'll go to the HoF as a Red Sox regardless...

In Cooperstown this weekend, I had to get in line behind other Red Sox fans to take a picture of the bloody sock.

So now that this is done:

-Beckett
-Dice-K
-Schilling
-Wake
-Lester
-Buchholz
-Tavarez

Are Lester and Buchholz being dangled as trade bait?

No way. I got your '08 rotation ... right ... here.

Buchholz and esp. Lester are at the peak of their value right now -- I expect one, or both, to get moved.

Did you feel like you were in the middle of nowhere before you got to Cooperstown?

Very fun trip, btw. Hope you enjoyed.

I also took my son to visit Colgate University, which is also "in the boonies". Here's my other favorite HOF pic: the Matt Young no-hitter ball, wtf.

I'm really not enjoying all this talk of ditching Ellsbury and Lester and/or Buchholz for Santana...I'm no baseball strategist, but to get rid of all the young talent does not seem to me to be worth it.

"this talk" being what I'm reading on Boston.com.

Trading kids with potential for the best lefty in baseball sounds good to me, although I like all three players that are being dangled.

It would be nice to root for them for more than one season. And Ellsbury's already amazing! I think our rotation is pretty good as it stands...do we really need the best lefty? I'd be fine if he went to another team, preferably not the Yankees.

"preferably not the yankees" = nominated for next RSN header phrase...
