This one came out the same day I lost my bid to be the UNH student body President. Call it the second disappointment of the day.
Too many songs. Too much filler ("Brinx Job," "Fight This Generation,"). A tragedy, really, because the best songs on here rank up there with their best overall ("Grounded," "AT&T," "We Dance," "Father to a Sister of Thought" just off the top of my head). I do like the silly voices S.M. employed throughout this album. And "Half a Canyon" was really the only one I hadn't already loved that made an impact.
Strange that some Pavement fanatics like this one the most.

"Hotel California" was playing over the loud speaker at the coffee shop this morning. The coda guitar solo reminded me of Pavement. Gulp... Had I never noticed this similarity before? Was I dreaming? How soon till somebody posts a Big Lebowski picture?

Could be worse, MC. When CTP and I went to a cider tasting a few weeks back we were forced to listen to an a capella hotel california while people contredanced. And we weren't allowed to have any cider til the dancers stopped dancing. I still have nightmares.
