Reflections on a year in the colonies - a party

As of March 15th I will have inhabited the colonies for exactly a year - a worthy excuse for a good old cockney knees up I reckon ...not arf guvnor so, I propose we gather on Sat 15th at the "soft opening" of THEDUANE's new restaurant http://www.hungrymothercambridge.com/ at a time to suit for some fine dining followed by cocktails and more booze and shenanigans far too unmentionable for t'interweb. who's in?

Oh, Corby! Not only do I adore "a good old cockney knees up" but I'd love to celebrate your second Ides of March in 'merica. Sadly, I'll have to raise a glass in your hono(u)r over here, mate.

I don't think I have any prior commitments. But if I come, I can't promise I won't rag on you for being a fake Brit who dislikes cucumber and who holds an American passport.

Unfortunately, Mr. Press will have to retract his invitation. He failed to consult his social secretary with his choice of date, and he, too, has a prior engagement.

I'll be busy stabbing Caesar on the senate floor. Oh wait, wrong millenium.

When you have the party, I propose that you wear a waxed handlebar mustache and safari gear and talk like David Attenborough all night: "From here we can casually observe the usual noctural activities of Humanus Wadsworthian. Note the bottles of Sierra Nevada, considered by many of this clan to be the libation of choice."

Uh, I want to go to THEDUANE's restaurant. Maybe those of us who haven't received our 'prior engagement' invitations should go anyway? Bueller?
