'Richard said to withdraw in disgust is not the same as apathy'
When Richard Linklater came to UNH in 1994, I was one of the student union folks who drove Linklater around and made sure he had what he needed before his lecture. He kept talking about this lyric that his friend Michael Stipe had cribbed from the movie 'Slacker' and put into the song 'What's the Frequency, Kenneth?'.
Still one of my favorite quotes.

This album's kinda lame. Not bad, really, but not good either. No great songs, no terrible songs. It's agreeable enough while it's playing, I guess; that's all the praise I can muster.
It always sounded to me like R.E.M. was trying too hard to "rock" with this one -- like Peter Buck demanded to be allowed to play power chords just this once. It doesn't suit them very well, at least not here.
This is the point where I stopped paying attention to R.E.M. I'm looking forward to the rest of the immersion.

any possible way to request a 'repost' of Out of Time? I snoozed and the link expired...
