Bruins vs. Canadiens on Tue.
I can get some tix through work, balcony sections 320-321, $47.50, and am thinking about going (gack, just realized that I haven't been to a professional hockey game since '88 or something, might be time...). Anyone else want to join me?
tgl - 10 month olds can totally be taken to hockey games, but there's no need to pay $50 to bring him to a Bruins game. You should take him to a Lynn/Swampscott game instead. Looks like Classical, English, and Tech have combined their hockey teams into one (what is this world coming to???).
Lucuc looks like he's going to be awesome. He's only 19, and he's already got in the head of the Canadiens defencemen. If the Bruins keep him and he stays healthy, he'll be huge in Boston.
I'm interested to see how Kessel responds to being benched for the playoffs. Bruins fans won't tolerate soft players, no matter how fancy they can stickhandle. Kessel was a total softie in college, too. This might be the first adversity he's ever faced. Will he commit to getting tougher, or will he just pout and demand a trade to somewhere like Tampa or Atlanta where the "fans" will accept him as he is?
Julien has done a great job with this team this year, and there's some real likeable players on the roster. It's not like this roster's loaded with talent. If this group can finish ahead of teams like Buffalo and Carolina, they could be real trouble with the addition of one more top-line player. (and probably a goalie... Thomas has been awesome this season, but it's probably a flash in the pan judging by his past career)
The Canadiens are arguably the best team in the league, so don't get too upset if the B's lose tonight.
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out over the next few years. This ownership group does not have a good track record, though.
Man, I love hockey playoff season!
