Bruins vs. Canadiens on Tue.

I can get some tix through work, balcony sections 320-321, $47.50, and am thinking about going (gack, just realized that I haven't been to a professional hockey game since '88 or something, might be time...). Anyone else want to join me?

A tentative yes. Depends if tommy is going, and should ten-month-olds attend professional hockey games?

Posted by virtue on 2008-04-11 14:06:28 +0000
Why not? I'm sure it would be quite the experience. Why does it depend if tommy is going?

can i get in on (2) of those tickets, please. i would be a definite yes.

I imagine that tommy is an excellent hockey fan.

Alas, while waiting to hear from people, they sold out. Crumb diddly um.

Posted by respectless on 2008-04-11 19:40:08 +0000
damn!

Damn, I should check the board more often. I will be at the game, but I've already got tickets with a buddy from work. tgl - 10 month olds can totally be taken to hockey games, but there's no need to pay $50 to bring him to a Bruins game. You should take him to a Lynn/Swampscott game instead. Looks like Classical, English, and Tech have combined their hockey teams into one (what is this world coming to???).

Wow - now that's a hockey game!

Excellent game tonight! Bruins missed a wide-open net about 3 minutes in, and that was the difference. I only wish the Canadiens had won on Sunday, so I could have seen the end-of-series handshake line.

Caught the last minutes at the Hub Express in North Station. They had added a Molson Canadien tap for the week, it wasn't getting much action.

For the time being, I am no friend of our friends to the north.

I will also say, as a lifelong Bruins-hater, I am actually glad to see them back in the playoffs. I used to think that the perfect Bruins season would be an 0-82 record. But, it turns out it's no fun rooting against a doormat. Here's to another decade of first-round playoff exits!

As a Bruins Bandwagon-jumper and a recent convert to the awesomeness of hockey I can only say that I hope to see a lot of crying Canadiens over the next week. As for the next decade, I fully expect that it will involve a lot of ass-kicking by the Bruins. Go B's!

Lots of reasons for B's fans to be excited! Lucuc looks like he's going to be awesome. He's only 19, and he's already got in the head of the Canadiens defencemen. If the Bruins keep him and he stays healthy, he'll be huge in Boston. I'm interested to see how Kessel responds to being benched for the playoffs. Bruins fans won't tolerate soft players, no matter how fancy they can stickhandle. Kessel was a total softie in college, too. This might be the first adversity he's ever faced. Will he commit to getting tougher, or will he just pout and demand a trade to somewhere like Tampa or Atlanta where the "fans" will accept him as he is? Julien has done a great job with this team this year, and there's some real likeable players on the roster. It's not like this roster's loaded with talent. If this group can finish ahead of teams like Buffalo and Carolina, they could be real trouble with the addition of one more top-line player. (and probably a goalie... Thomas has been awesome this season, but it's probably a flash in the pan judging by his past career) The Canadiens are arguably the best team in the league, so don't get too upset if the B's lose tonight. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out over the next few years. This ownership group does not have a good track record, though. Man, I love hockey playoff season!

Yeah, one of the reasons I've suddenly gotten more into B's hockey is that they're getting more physical, and they're all over the ice! I can't remember if I've ever seen such an electric B's game, or series for that matter. Most of their games that I've seen over the years haven't been so pretty. I've wanted to like them, but like you say, the owners don't care enough and are more likely to trade away the young talent that let it grow on the team. Here's hoping they don't make that mistake with Lucic and the others. Here's to a great playoff series! No matter who wins, I'd be psyched if this goes to 7 games. That Price sure is a frustrating goalie to have to shoot on (that is, when they're able to get shots off)!

Another great game last night. The B's finally got to Price, and on his home turf.

I didn't realize that Jeremy Jacobs is one of the most powerful executives in the NHL!

Man, tonight's game was so thoroughly disappointing. I hate almost everything about this franchise. If Montreal can't pull it out in game 7 on Monday, I will hire Ulf Samuelsson to go into the Bruins' owners box to kill Cam Neely once and for all.

What a game! The best I've been to in my entire life. So dramatic and riveting, the Garden was on fire! Tonight's game is going to kick so much ass!

Posted by tommy on 2008-04-21 14:26:54 +0000
You went? That was a hell of a game. Haven't seen an NHL game that riveting in years, I don't think.

Posted by TheFullCleveland on 2008-04-21 14:59:23 +0000
I did - my friend called me the day of saying he had two tix! Yeah, totally riveting, totally epic. The confusion following the Habs' goal that made it 4-4 was pretty funny. Such a see-saw of emotions in such a short time. I don't think I've ever seen the Garden so crazy and so alive.

L: the Bruins fight montages (I think there were at least four of them) definitely heightened the insanity of the evening.

Posted by tgl on 2008-04-21 16:31:50 +0000
This would explain the line-up of Bruins fans this morning (Although, they could have been queueing to get tickets for The Eagles on sale this Thursday).

L2: And to top it off they played Subdivisions. My night was made.
