I found this record somewhere (with the Bradlee's 78 cent price tag still on it). We were having a good laugh over this the other night at practice. As you can see, it's the B side to Terry Jack's "Seasons in the Sun" (No.1 - 1974).
Lyrics
Put the bone in
She yelled at the store
'Cause my doggie's been hit by a car
And I do want to bring him home something
Put the bone in
She yelled out once more
Because the meat from the pork is so sweet
And the bone from the pork give to me
Put the bone in she begged him
As she paced across the floor
Put the bone in she yelled out once more
Put the bone in
She yelled at the store
Cause my doggie's been hit by a car
And I do want to bring him home something
Put the bone in
She yelled out once more ...
If this song is a metaphor for what I think it is, I am not figuring out the store piece of the equation.
Is 'the store' an exchange of $ for a particular service?
