Is the costume discount only for rockstars?
Posted by dawnbixtler on 2004-10-27 20:19:39 +0000
"for rockstars" or "costumed as rockstars?"
Posted by tgl on 2004-10-27 20:26:08 +0000
Good point.
If I disguise my rockstar-ness, do I still get in?

I'm going to do my best to attend. All depends on if I'm feeling alive by then.

feelin Alive...
sounds like a really good song title... should the Bee Gees write a sequel song?
It'd be cool to see you Miriam :)

Some thoughts:
Who was that girl on the keyboards? Too much emotion, she needs to take some cues from W. Mittelstadt. Better yet...
Should everyone be in suits?
That Jonathan Richman cover was a bit too dense, thanks for "Waiting Room".
More Shows! BQ needs some more mic time. Rory_Stark could be a bit smoother as well.
Don Cheadle!
Everyone is a critic.

Tgl is full of suggestions today! I give him the "more shows" request only to be countered with comments about our crappy website and the loftiness of Michigan college radio.....
Ho hum I'm starting to remember what my mom told me about trying to make everyone happy....
The suit thing was awesome! I hope it wasn't just a Halloween thing - If everyone was in outfits it might be too Motownish, but then again an overall theme or strategy or direction is a good thing as well...

I should have mentioned that I had a good time on Sat. night and indeed enjoyed the set. "Everyone is a critic" was more of a stab at me, rather than anyone else.
I think costuming is important, especially since C4RT seems to have a definite schtick element.

Responding to Terry's thoughts:
We tried and tried to get Wendy to join us... her loss, our gain. Nina Hichak is the eighteen (18!) year old keyboard player. Sister was born after "Licensed to Ill" came out. (*blink*) Speaking of sisters, Rich Ladew's sister Michelle is joining us soon.
Suits? Maybe, the get-ups (like the rest of the project) is a work in progress, still. Any feedback is needed. I think we intended to have a little more variety with the get-ups. Or at least have Nina wear a Rick Wakeman-esque cape.
"Roadrunner" was a little too dense. I think it was because we did it in a Dinosaur Jr.-style.
More shows forthcoming. We're working on it. I think the mic time is a little more equal than you think, Terry.
Don Cheadle indeed!

No, no, not equal time... better time. Real Time! Real Time Wolf!
I thought bizquig3000 could use some more, er, practice, for the call and response session. Rory Stark had bits that were way out there content wise, mixed in-between pretty typical onstage banter. The RS stuff was nice...
